Doodle Pups

doodle pups have been all the rage lately. A cross between a Poodle and another breed of dog, they are the result of a professional breeder’s desire to create dogs that have all the best qualities of both parents. These are smart, highly trainable, social dogs that love to please their families and most people they meet.

Are doodles loyal dogs?

They also shed less, so they are an excellent choice for someone with allergies. The first doodles appeared in the 1980s and were crosses between Labrador Retrievers and Standard Poodles. They were originally bred to be guide dogs, but the popularity of the breed quickly took off. The doodle concept has now expanded to many different breeds of dog.

There are a couple of myths about doodles that you should be aware of. For one, just because a dog has a poodle parent does not mean that it is hypoallergenic. Also, because doodles are a mix of two dog breeds the results can vary.

For example, a goldendoodle can be anything from a tiny 12 lb toy to a 40 lb large breed. If you see a puppy for sale that is advertised as a mini, be aware that this does not guarantee the dog will remain a miniature. Regardless of size, doodles are active and energetic dogs that need plenty of exercise, which can be done through regular walks, hiking or a game of fetch in the backyard. This is important for their physical and mental health. If not exercised, doodles can become frustrated or develop behavioral issues.
